Barry was the hottest pitcher in 2002 and as a result he was given one of the highest honors a player can receive, the Players Choice Award for outstanding pitcher in the American League. His numbers speak volumes about his stellar year; 23-5, 2.75 ERA, the Cy Young award and his first trip to the All-Star game. If you tack on the second half of 2001 -- during which he was 11-1 with a 1.32 ERA -- and you've got one seriously hot pitcher.

His postseason performances have been on-par with his solid regular season efforts. He is 2-1 with a 2.28 ERA in his brief career.

He showed early signs of success in 2000 as he parlayed 14 starts into a 7-4 record with a petite 2.72 ERA. The USC alum was named first-team All-American by many publications after his junior year with the Trojans, when he went 12-3 with a 3.28 and 154 strikeouts in 113.2 innings.
