This sequel feels as though it hasn't missed a beat since the first one. Time has passed since the first, characters have grown and changed in ways one would expect them to in everyday real life, and yet the feel of the world is very much unchanged. Along with the continuation of the story of their lives there is a furthered continuity of style and feel in Spider-Man 2 that is sometimes missing from other sequels.

Spider-Man 2, like its predecessor, is rooted in a subtle comic book style that doesn't betray the verisimilitude of the world it is set in. The characters, so well established in the first installment, are still as fleshed out and vivid as before. It feels like time has passed parallel with ours, and in many ways, it's like visiting friends you haven't seen in a few yesrs. Instantly recognizable, yet with enough change for you to believe that this is a real world.
