During the slightly more than three-hour bash, Publisher Howard Mittman greeted friends and fans of the magazine, including Moby (who deejayed), actor Chris Noth, actress Alexis Bledel, the “Shamwow guy” Vince Shlomi, Mouth of the Border’s Emily Cavalier, Sternberg Strategic Communications’ Josh Sternberg, blogger Sarah Merion, HS Dominion’s Damien Basile, Unit 7’s Meredith Berke, Coach’s Julia Roy, The New York Times’ Jenna Wortham (a Wired alumna), the “Internet’s music teacher” Walt Ribeiro, freelance writer Andrew Graham, blogger Chris O’Leary, and Kitten Couture’s Kimmie Smith. In addition to the Wired-themed cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, guests also got a chance to check out some of the “cutting-edge” technology and design, the latest in games and gaming, new music and books, “hot” new gear and gadgets, “indoor and outdoor inspiration,” and products to help consumers “lead a greener life” assembled by the magazine for sale in the store if they could get through the crowds to see them (I’ll more than likely be taking another trip there to see what I couldn’t during the opening last night.).
