His film career began when he was featured in "The Enemy Within" and "Mars Attacks," opposite Jack Nicholson and Glenn Close. His other roles include the lead in "Steel" opposite Shaquille O'Neal; "Christmas at Water's Edge," with Keisha Knight Pulliam; "Once Upon a Time When We Were Colored," with Al Freeman Jr.; and the independent film "Envy."
He began his music career in 1995 recording his first album Everything You Want when he was just 14-years-old. He released his second album This Ain't a Game in 2002, and will release his third album Raydiation in September 2005. Ray J has been featured on the soundtracks of the films "Dr. Dolittle" and "Set It Off." He has produced jingles for CoverGirl and Mattel.
Ray J has performed on stage in Landmark's "Twist," and Billy Dorsey's "Gospel Praise." He also has starred in various commercials including Gap, Chrysler and McDonald's.
During his free time, he enjoys dirt biking riding, ATV's, motorcycling, skating and horseback riding. He also likes video games and basketball.
