A grunge rock band from Seattle that completely altered the radio landscape in 1991/1992 with their hit song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and the album it came off of, "Nevermind." Nirvana remained the premier rock band of its day until lead singer Kurt Cobain's death in 1994. Though it's run was short, Nirvana's influence on the music landscape of its time could not have been any bigger. The band in its prime consisted of Cobain (guitar, vocals), Krist Novoselic (bass) and Dave Grohl (drums).
