Nikki was born and raised in a small town in Ohio. She grew up with four brothers. Nikki excelled academically and through testing was found to have a genius level IQ. She was transferred to a magnet school in her 4th grade year, Pleasantview School for the Arts. She spent the summer of her 5th grade year in Greece. Soon after returning home, tragedy struck. Nikki's older brother Eoun died in a horrific automobile accident. This loss was a crushing blow to the fragile ten year old girl. Eoun was her idol and the symbol of protection in her life. A series of tragic losses were immediately dealt to the gifted beauty. A babysitter soon passed due to rare health complications, Nikki's oldest brother Philip committed suicide, her parents divorced, her grandmother died of a stroke, and Nikki endured social torment at school. Bouncing between her mother and father necessitated frequent moves and starts at new schools. In addition, the chaotic family scene left Nikki seeking attention through rebellious behavior. The sweet, lost girl gained an infamous reputation in her small town due to her individualistic, future-forward behavior combined with bandwagon rumor spreading amongst her peers. An unspeakable accident in middle school forced Nikki to be hospitalized and suffer her first near-death experience, which included life-saving medical assistance.
In 8th grade, Nikki moved to Texas to live with her mother and to make a fresh start in her life. Ms. Giavasis continued to excel in academics, extracurricular activities, and her social life. She made a complete change in her search for happiness to a focus on achievement and personal goal-attainment. The persistent teen bounced back and forth between her parents which resulted in her changing schools seven times during high school in Ohio, Texas, and Las Vegas. Nikki quickly learned the importance of independence and began working and supporting herself at the age of fifteen. By seventeen, she was living alone, supporting herself financially, and excelling in her academics, social circle, and extracurricular activities. The exotic dynamo earned college credit in high school through a curriculum based on Honors/Advanced Placement courses. She participated in Student Council, French Club, Business Professionals of America, Junior Engineers of Texas Society, and was Captain of the track team by her Senior year. The natural athlete had continually succeeded in ballet and gymnastics since the age of two, and in track and cheerleading since middle school. Nikki decided to take her skill to the next level and began training for her first fitness competition. Her dreams of success in the fitness realm came to a screeching halt when a freak accident hospitalized Nikki during her Senior year. She endured two months in the hospital, extensive surgeries, a near fatal blood clot, absence from track and fitness competition, inability to attend her Senior prom, and her grades suffered.
Nikki proved her unstoppable strength yet again by beginning an intensive, self-structured physical therapy program to recuperate and re-teach her body how to walk. Nikki refused to accept anything but the absolute best. Her consistent determination led her to audition for the NFL Houston Oilers Professional Cheerleading auditions. She made the squad near the end of her Senior year and became the youngest member of The Derrick Doll Squad. Later in the season, Nikki's injury resurfaced and she endured another surgery to remove the glass lodged in her bone. She was put on the squad's injured reserve. By this time, Nikki felt the need to return to her roots and to attend college back in her hometown. Nikki quit the squad and returned to Ohio in order to be closer to her family and obtain a degree. She began Walsh University in North Canton, a private Christian school, on a full scholarship for track and academics. Nikki was not new to a theologic curriculum because she attended Catholic school during high school.
She received Dean's List and National Dean's List awards at Walsh. She was featured in Who's Who in America's Colleges and Universities, local newspapers, and local news stations. Nikki competed in her first fitness competition in 1999, the Fitness America regional where she qualified for nationals. She was unable to attend nationals, however, and went on to receive her degree in Marketing in 2001. Nikki graced the 2001 Women Who Really Rock Calendar as Miss May. Ms. Giavasis appeared on various MTV and VH1 shows. She placed 1st in the Venus Model Search regional in 2001 and 2nd in the Hawaiian Tropic regional that same year.
Nikki G decided to redirect her focus and became a Financial Advisor for American Express in Florida in 2002. Nikki soon learned that nothing would deter her desire to excel in entertainment arts and motivating others so she decided to finally move to California in 2003 and ultimately achieve her dreams. Her primary focus for personal success retains the constant focus of using her experiences and success to help motivate others to succeed rather than giving up in the face of any adversity. Her goal is to "teach people that you truly can achieve anything as long as you put your heart and mind to it. I have been through a lot in my life and I've decided to use it as motivation to succeed rather than a reason to just give up, be resentful, and complain of everything I could have done. Tomorrow is never guaranteed so please cherish every day and every moment of your life because time is our most valuable asset in life. Remember, never despair because everything in life happens for a reason."
