M.I.A. is not your typical pop star, and her debut album, Arular, shows her diversity and depth. The daughter of a Sri Lankan freedom fighter, M.I.A. addresses issues such as poverty and war refugees in her music which combines hip hop, reggae rhythms, pop, and more.
Beyonce seems to be mocking Katy Perry, M.I.A. and Rihanna, and it's actually kind of hilarious. And there's not quite the same level of near-hip-dislocation in this video as there was in the clip for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)," but it's still kind of... wtf-ish.
