Max Casella Biography


Max Casella starred in THE MUSIC MAN on Broadway playing Marcellus Washburn, the wily partner-in-crime of Harold Hill. His debut on Broadway came in 1997, as "Timon" in the original cast of the Tony award-winning musical THE LION KING. For his work in the show, he received a Theatre World award for Outstanding Broadway Debut, as well as a Drama Desk nomination.

Max first became widely known in his role as "Vinnie" on the hit television series DOOGIE HOWSER, M.D. produced by Steven Bochco.

Roles in major motion pictures include Disney's NEWSIES with Christian Bale and Robert Duvall, Tim Burton's ED WOOD opposite Johnny Depp, SGT. BILKO opposite Steve Martin, and ANALYZE THIS with Robert De Niro.

Casella has also lent his voice to roles in Disney animated features including DINOSAUR, and the JAK AND DAXTER games on the Sony Playstation 2

Max was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts where he honed his skills as an actor in regional theater in productions such as Tom Stoppard's "Night And Day" and "Cyrano De Bergerac" at the prestigious Huntington Theater.
