Matthew Newton co-starred in Looking for Alibrandi and starred in My Mother Frank opposite Rose Byrne, Sinead Cusak and Sam Neill. As the lead in the acclaimed Australian Broadcasting Corporation TV series Changi, he earned a Logie Award nomination for Most Outstanding Actor and in the same year, 2001, he co-starred in Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned and made his New York debut in Gale Edward's The White Devil. He performed in the Australian feature Blurred, played the lead role in the Sydney Theatre Company's Volpone and appeared as a regular on the US sci-fi series Farscape.
