Emerging as a top band in 2005 after years of underground success, the New York group Maroon 5 released its album "Songs About Jane." Powered by the breakthrough hit "This Love" and follow up smashes "Harder to Breathe" and "She Will Be Loved", Adam Levine (vocals/guitar), James Valentine (guitar), Jesse Carmichael (keyboards), Mickey Madden (bass), and Ryan Dusick (drums) became stars and won a Grammy for Best New Artist even though the band wasn't really new.
Texas Hall rattled as students gathered to cheer and sing along as Maroon 5 rocked the packed house. Students jumped, screamed for encores, waved their cell phones and sang along to some of the band’s hits during the hour-plus performance Friday night.
