Lance comprises one-fifth of the pop sensation NSYNC that began its assault upon the music charts in 1998, with their self-titled debut album. Along with the film's co-star Joey Fatone and Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick, NSYNC solidified their place in music history with the 2000 release of No Strings Attached which sold an astounding 2.4 million copies in its first week of release. The group's follow-up album, entitled Celebrity was released on July 24, 2001, and the boys are on their Popodessey tour showcasing their new music with their most ambitious stadium shows to date.

Known as the business-minded member of NSYNC, Bass formed a film production company called A Happy Place with Wendy Thorlakson, a former executive in Tom Hanks' Playtone Company. Interested in producing as well as performing, Bass appeared in the WB series 7th Heaven. He was attracted to the romantic storyline of ON THE LINE, and found parallels between his own personality and that of the shy, sweet-natured protagonist, Kevin. Sensing that the story would have international appeal, Bass seized the opportunity to begin his feature film career in a vehicle that unites him with "NSYNC bandmate Joey, as well as musical legend Reverend Al Green.
