Kristen Wiig joins "Saturday Night Live" this season. A native of Rochester, NY, Wiig comes to "SNL" from the Los Angeles-based improv/sketch comedy group The Groundlings where castmates Will Forte, Chris Parnell, Maya Rudolph as well as such distinguished alums as Will Ferrell, Laraine Newman, Phil Hartman and Jon Lovitz began their careers. Wiig has also appeared on network sitcoms including "The Drew Carey Show" and "I'm with Her" as well as well an appearance on the upcoming new series by "SNL" writer Paula Pell, "Thick and Thin," alongside Chris Parnell.
