Before joining The Weather Channel last September, she was at KCBS, CBS2 in Los Angeles, first as weekend meteorologist and then morning meteorologist. Other previous experience was at: WNYW, Fox-5 in New York, NY, as weekend and midday meteorologist providing special winter storm coverage in 2001-2002 and morning meteorologist for NewsChannel Orange County OCN, Orange County, CA from 1998 to 2001.
Ms. Andrews also worked at WEVU, Fort Myers, FL; KFVS, Cape Girardeau, MO; and KSBY in San Luis Obispo, CA Her responsibilities included forecasting, creating graphics, presentation, and reporting on major weather stories, science, the environment and features.
Born in Upper Saddle River, NJ, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and a Master of Arts in Communication from William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ. Ms. Andrews says that forecasting is her favorite part of being an on-camera meteorologist. She is experienced in many types of forecasts including those for winter storms, tornadoes, Santa Ana Winds and hurricanes. She also has provided information for local government agencies and the public on various subjects such as wild fires, wind damage, mud slides, sanding/salting/plowing roads, school cancellations, and flash floods.
