Before making his way to network television, the Montreal native, who spent much of his childhood growing up in Hong Kong, England, Connecticut and Toronto, worked a variety of odd jobs. For example, he taught high school at the age of 19 and planted 3,000 trees a day in the Canadian north. He began performing improv comedy to make money on the side while he attended McGill University. While working an assembly line at a light-bulb factory for General Electric, he never imagined that he would again be a GE employee starring in an NBC comedy series.

Ferguson?s feature film credits include ?Rowing Through,? ?The Opposite of Sex? and ?The Surprise Party.? He has previously appeared on the small screen in ?A Prayer in the Dark,? ?Night Sins,? ?More Tales of the City,? ?Then Came You? and most recently in the television movie ?We Were the Mulvany?s.?

In his spare time, Ferguson likes traveling to remote places and recently visited Iceland, Thailand, China and the Ecuadorian jungle. He also enjoys camping in his orange VW van and ?amassing skills he will never use.? A founder of the Second City Comedy Club and school in Detroit, Ferguson recently became a U.S. citizen.
