Von Detten's numerous television credits include series regular roles in Dinotopia, Odd Man Out and So Weird, and as a voice for the animated series Recess. He has guest starred on many popular television series, including 8 Simple Rules, ER and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He also appeared as a guest contestant on Celebrity Mole: Hawaii.
His feature film credits include leading roles in The Princess Diaries, Leave It to Beaver and Top Dog, and he lent his voice to the lead characters of Toy Story, Recess: School's Out and Tarzan.
