Eric McCormack Biography


Born and raised in Toronto, McCormack learned his craft at the Banff School of Fine Arts at Toronto's Ryerson University. He spent five glorious seasons at the renowned Stratford Shakespearean Festival, and performed in regional theaters across Canada.

Since 1990, McCormack has appeared in dozens of series and made-for-television movies. Most memorable was his role as Col. Clay Mosby on ?Lonesome Dove: The Outlaw Years.?

McCormack's feature films include ?Holy Man,? ?Free Enterprise,? ?Here's to Life? and the upcoming independent film "The Sisters" opposite Maria Bello and Mary Stuart Masterson.

In 2001, McCormack made his Broadway debut as Harold Hill in Susan Stroman?s acclaimed production of ?The Music Man.? The Will & Grace soundtrack CD featured "Living with Grace," a song Eric co-wrote with Barry Manilow.

McCormack made his debut as a writer/director with the film short ?Pirates".
