She is formerly known to television audiences as a participant on the wildly popular second edition of Survivor: The Australian Outback. While competing in Australia, Mrs. Hasselbeck used her competitive drive and survival skills to outwit her way to the final four.
In August 2004, Mrs. Hasselbeck spoke at the Republican National Convention where she delivered a heartfelt speech that emphasized her continued effort in support of Breast Cancer prevention and research. In recent years, she has worked with the The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Making Memories Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, The World Scholar-Athlete Games and the Knowledge Now Organization.
Since taking the coveted seat on The View, Mrs. Hasselbeck as been the focus of several major magazine covers and articles including People, TV Guide, Glamour and Us Weekly. In addition, she has been a guest on The David Letterman Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The CBS Early Show and Rock n' Roll Jeopardy.
Mrs. Hasselbeck exhibits her flair for fashion as host of the Style Network program The Look For Less, where she helps viewers find designer styles at bargain prices. She has also hosted programs on MTV as well as commercial work for companies including Reebok, Johnson & Johnson and Proctor & Gamble.
A 1999 Fine Arts graduate from Boston College, with a focus on large scale paintings and drawings, Mrs. Hasselbeck resides in New York City with her husband Tim Hasselbeck, an NFL quarterback for the Washington Redskins. While at Boston College Mrs. Hasselbeck captained her Division-1 softball team to back-to-back big east championships. She has been recently honored with the Boston College Distinguished Alumni Award.
Prior to her work in television, Mrs. Hasselbeck designed shoes for PUMA, working on their street lifestyle line. She does not stray far from the world of industrial design and focuses her time with off-camera painting and developing her own accessories line. A dedicated runner, she has completed the Boston Marathon, and has paced others for both the Boston and San Diego marathons.
Mrs. Hasselbeck grew up in Providence, Rhode Island and is the daughter of Kenneth Filarski and Elisabeth DelPadre. Mrs. Hasselbeck and husband Tim Hasselbeck are expecting their first child in March/April 2005. She made this announcement live on The View in September 2004.
