Diane Mizota Biography


In a job that combines her love of hosting, home decorating and children, Diane Mizota is the host of ?Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls,? a spinoff of ?Trading Spaces,? now in its second season on Discovery Kids on NBC Saturday mornings and on the Discovery Kids Network. Mizota also currently hosts the half-hour countdown show ?Filter? on the new G4 network dedicated to video games and youth lifestyle. Her loyal fan following has made this show one of the most popular on the network.

A northern California native and UCLA graduate, Mizota began her career in entertainment as a professional dancer in Los Angeles. Her portfolio already included the 68th and 69th Annual Academy Awards, ?Friends,? ?Ally McBeal? and the feature films ?That Thing You Do,? ?A View From the Top? and ?Boogie Nights.? Then she decided to expand her career into acting, and started out in commercials before appearing in ?King of Queens,? ?7th Heaven? and in a recurring role on ?CSI: Miami.? She also played the role of ?Fook Mi? opposite Mike Myers in ?Austin Powers in Goldmember.?

In addition to acting and hosting, Mizota recently wrote, produced and starred in a comedy series presentation, ?Bitter: Party of Four,? for the HBO/Warner Bros. Television Workspace, which was based on her and two friends' experiences as working dancers in Los Angeles.

In her free time, Mizota mentors a group of fifth-graders in Hawthorne, California, decorates her home and enjoys writing, roller-skating, and spending time with her family, friends and pets.
