A Venezuelan model, Dayana Mendoza won the Miss Universe 2008 title. Prior to this, she won the Miss Venezuela crown which allowed her to represent her country at the Miss Universe 2008 pageant.
Being tall and thin was not good enough, for Miss India Universe, Simran Kaur Mundi, she had to put on 4kg to become the 'perfect package'.
