On NBC?s ?Three Wishes,? Carter Oosterhouse travels to communities all over the country to help make dreams of all kinds come true for deserving people. Oosterhouse first gained attention in 2003 on the popular series ?Trading Spaces.? In addition to his continuing duties on ?Trading Spaces,? Oosterhouse is also a regular contributor and ?handyman in residence? for NBC?s ?Today? show. From his first appearance on ?Trading Spaces,? audiences took notice of the handsome and personable 6?3? carpenter -- who looked more like a runway model than a guy who puts shelving in your den. People magazine took notice as well, featuring Oosterhouse in the November 2003 Sexiest Man Alive issue. Oosterhouse has also charmed Oprah Winfrey with several appearances on ?Oprah,? and last year he won $20,000 on ?Celebrity Poker? for the Los Angeles-based charity Coach for Kids. In addition, Oosterhouse recently became a weekly ?home improvement expert? contributor for the new magazine ?Inside TV,? launched by the publishers of TV Guide.

Born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, Oosterhouse is the youngest of four children. A natural athlete, he excelled in sports and attended Central Michigan University on a rugby scholarship. He continues to be an avid sports enthusiast and counts basketball, kayaking, horseback riding, hockey, sailing, baseball and rugby among his favorites.

After earning his bachelor of arts degree in nutrition and communication, Oosterhouse relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a modeling and acting career. Producers soon tapped him to join the ?Trading Spaces? cast for their fourth season.

Oosterhouse uses his time and talent to support several children?s charities including New York?s Books for Kids, Coach for Kids and the Fulfillment Fund in Los Angeles. When not on the road with the shows, he makes his home in Los Angeles.
