In 1986, with 10 years, Candace got the call to audition for the role of D.J. Tanner on Full House. Candace impressed the studio executives and producers so much, that they delayed taping the pilot to allow Candace to complete work on her other obligations. The show instantly became one of the most succesful sitcoms of all time. Its eight-year run ranks it amongst the top series of all time.
Cameron also drew critical acclaim for her work in other roles. Her portrayal of an abused teenager in No One Would Tell gave her some publicity. She followed it with starring roles in She Cried No, and Night Scream for NBC. She also guest starred on such network hits as Cybil and Boy Meets World.
Cameron was cast in John Hughes Some Kind of Wonderful as Eric Stoltz pestering sister. Her feature film credits also include Punchline with Tom Hanks and Sally Field among others.
In June 22, 1996, Cameron married NHL hockey star Valeri Bure. They were introduced by Cameron's former co-star in Full House, Dave Coulier. They have three children together. Since then, Cameron has been on a self-imposed hiatus to raise their children. They spend the majority of their time in South Florida, where Val played for the Florida Panthers. However, she is currently Executive Producing and starring in The Krew, a half-hour awareness video aimed at helping children avoid and deal with dangerous situations in every day life.
