The dominant National League team of the 1990s and early 2000s, the Atlanta Braves under the guidence of manager Bobby Cox, pitching coach Leo Mazzone & GM John Schuerholz have steered the team to a period of unmatched glory. Even the Braves of Spahn & Sain or Aaron & Matthews can't hold candle to the win ability of Maddux, Glavine, Smoltz and the Joneses. Every year pundits say the Braves are ready to fall down, but each year the geniuses behind the team put together a roster that just wins.
The Braves want a right-handed power bat, a first baseman and a closer, but they don't need to sign them right this minute. General manager Frank Wren did pretty well reconstructing his rotation last season just as spring training was about to begin, and the team didn't round into form until after the All-Star break.
