Received the call-up to stay on for the US Women?s Cup following an injury to teammate Bridgette Starr. Went on as a substitute against the USA and scored her first international goal. For the Matildas however, it was a consolation goal, suffering a demoralising 9-1 loss
Ankle reconstruction surgery ruled her unavailable for the Tri-Nations Series against Olympic silver medallists China and New Zealand in November 1997, a tournament the Matildas won. Again underwent ankle surgery in August 1999
Selected as one of the 20 National Squad players to take up a full-time residential scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for 1998 (inaugural intake), 1999 and early 2000. As a member of the OAP Squad, continued to train at the AIS leading up to the Olympics
Competed in the Oceania World Cup Qualifiers in October 1998 in New Zealand
Member of the Australian Team for the 1999 World Cup in the USA, but did not get any minutes on the park. Australia finished in 11th place
Named as an 'alternate' for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Team, one of the four players on standby with a possibility of being called into the Team in case of injury, up to and even during the Olympics itself
Although not a member of the Olympic Team, was selected to make the Tour to North Korea and China in August 2000
